1. Four-Grade Tractor Maintenance Schedule (Global Working Hour Standard)
Global agricultural machinery industry divides tractor maintenance into four levels based on cumulative working hours. Operators are forbidden to run tractors beyond scheduled service hours. Stage IV and Stage V electronic injection tractors of different horsepower share the same service hour standard, only matching different specification spare parts and lubricants.
It is basic preventive maintenance finished before and after each shift, with zero cost and high failure prevention value. Key maintenance items are listed below:
- Whole Machine Cleaning: Remove crop straw, soil and debris from radiator fins to avoid poor heat dissipation.
- Five-Leak Inspection: Check joints for leakage of water, fuel, air, electricity and hydraulic oil.
- Fluid Level Check: Verify engine oil, coolant, diesel, hydraulic oil and brake fluid.
- Driving & Brake Inspection: Check tire pressure, rim bolts or track pins; test brake pedal.
- Post-Shutdown Operation: Lower mounted farm tools and clean drive shafts.
Focusing on filter cleaning, grease lubrication and gap adjustment. Main tasks: Clean diesel tank strainer; replace oil-bath air filter oil; apply grease to nipples; adjust fan/alternator belts; fasten loose bolts; calibrate clutch free travel.
Medium-depth maintenance focusing on filter replacement. Core operations: Replace engine oil, oil filter, fine diesel filter and air filter; calibrate valve clearance; remove carbon deposits on injectors; check steering ball joints; drain fuel water separator.
Annual major preventive overhaul. Main tasks: Replace gear oil and hydraulic oil; clean radiator and water channels; calibrate fuel pump pressure; inspect release bearings and brake pads; clean DPF filters for Stage IV models.
2. Core System Maintenance Tips for Field Operation
2.1 Engine System (Highest Fault Rate Component)
Three core principles: clean air intake, qualified fuel supply and constant lubrication temperature.
- Air Intake: Blow air filter every 50h, replace every 200h. Shorten cycle for sandy lands.
- Fuel System: Use standard 0# or -10# diesel. Drain water separator daily.
- Lubrication: 15W-40 for summer, 5W-30 for winter. Drain oil when engine is hot.
- Cooling: Replace coolant every 2 years. Tap water is strictly forbidden.
2.2 Clutch & Transmission System
Clutch pedal free travel: 20-30mm. Standard front wheel toe-in: 5-10mm (2WD), 0-4mm (4WD). Use extreme pressure anti-wear gear oil for heavy-load farming.
2.3 Brake & Steering Safety System
Replace DOT4 brake fluid every 300h. Replace pads when thickness is < 1/3. Steering play shall not exceed 15 degrees during field work.
2.4 Hydraulic Lifting System
Use OEM dedicated anti-wear hydraulic oil only. Gear oil cannot be used as substitute. Always lower mounted farm tools to release pressure during parking.
2.5 Electrical & Battery System
Normal operating voltage: 13.8V-14.5V. Disconnect negative terminal for long-term parking. Do not flush Stage IV electronic modules with high-pressure water.
2.6 Model-Specific Chassis & Traveling System
Wheeled: Field tire pressure 0.18-0.3MPa. Crawler: Adjust crawler tension every 100h to prevent derailment or over-wear.
3. Running-In & 4. Off-Season Storage
- Engine Idle: 15 min idle, 30 min medium speed.
- No-Load: Drive 2 hours in all gears.
- Gradual Load: 30%, 50%, 70% rated load successively.
- Clean whole tractor and repair paint.
- Replace all fluids with antifreeze lubricants.
- Seal air inlet and exhaust ports.
- Remove battery and store indoors.
